Mara is a Japanese-American girl with a history of personal tragedy. Though she still cuts herself to quell the pain, she thought the worst was behind her. But her boyfriend’s sudden death, and a visit to one of the most haunted places in Washington State, sends her into a spiral of madness, landing her in a psychiatric ward.
Already suffering from dreams of a strange, ghost-infested house in the woods, Mara begins to question the very existence of reality. She is forced to confront the truth about her older sister’s death and the reason the ghosts have chosen her as their conduit.

Mara is a Japanese-American girl with a history of personal tragedy. Though she still cuts to quell the pain, she thought she had left the worst behind her. But her boyfriend’s sudden death and a visit to one of the most haunted places in Washington State send her into a spiral of madness that lands her in a psychiatric ward.
Already suffering from dreams of a strange, ghost-infested house in the woods, Mara begins to question the very existence of reality. She is forced to confront the truth of her older sister’s brutal murder and, unable to distinguish between nightmare and waking any longer, the reason the ghosts have chosen her as their conduit.
“An evocative journey into the darkest realms of a troubled psyche. Part ghost story, part psychological suspense, Conduits is an astonishing debut from a bold new voice in horror. Don’t miss it!” —Tim Waggoner, author of The Way of All Flesh

I’ve been traveling a lot over the past couple weeks and haven’t had much time to post, but I wanted to mention a few things:
1. I now have the release dates for all four books from Permuted Press.
10/13/2015 Those of My Kind
11/10/2015 A Place With The Dead
12/8/2015 Dusk of Hope
5/3/2016 The Ones Who Came Back
You’ll be able to buy the whole trilogy just in time for Christmas next year. 🙂
2. Conduits received a very nice review from author Nick Cato. Check it out at The Horror Fiction Review.
3. After 13 years, I have a new tattoo.
In another month or so it’ll have color and more shading/detail, but it’s already pretty awesome. Monique Ligons of Body Graphics is doing the work, and I can’t recommend her enough.
4. I finally saw Nine Inch Nails this week. Having been a fan since I first heard Pretty Hate Machine in the 8th grade, I was not disappointed by the 24-year wait. Excellent show (plus Soundgarden!), made even better by seeing it with my sister.
And now I’m off to see this Guardians of the Galaxy movie I’ve heard so much about.
